Our Payment Integrations team is looking for a Sr. Database Administrator with the ability to solve multiple layered and complex problems utilizing Azure. This position is ideal for an ambitious problem solver who has highly tuned decision-making skills. The Sr. Database Administrator will be 100% remote and is a long-term full-time opportunity.
Key Responsibilities
- Figure out the most effective way to increase performance including hardware purchases, server configuration changes, or index/query changes
- Make suggestions regarding database design, tuning options, and other potential issues
- Ensure the design and execution of database server topology, configuration, and maintenance meet SLA objectives
- Maintain all database instances across development, staging, and production environments, handling installations and configurations as needed
- Establish the baseline for system performance, recognize deviation, and suggest and implement improvements to slow running queries
- Configure database monitoring utilities to minimize false alarms
- Solid grasp of relational database management systems
Requirements
- 6+ years of database experience
- Experience in production environments and willingness to be on-call
- Practical knowledge of storage and server configuration within Azure desired
- Proficient at adapting queries to enhance performance
- Experience developing and maintaining documentation
- Microsoft SQL Server Database experience required
- Microsoft Azure experience required
